This free membership includes, introduction courses to flywheel training, courses on what makes flywheel training different and E-books that provide you with quick tips and flywheel insights which is updated on a regular basis.

Meet Your Host

Professor John Cronin

PhD (Auckland), BEd, MA (Canada), Dip High Performance Coaching (Canada), Dip PE, Dip Teaching.
Professor John Cronin Exerfly

John is a professor in Strength and Conditioning within the Sports Performance Research Institute of New Zealand (SPRINZ), School of Sport and Recreation, at AUT University. SPRINZ is the number one sport performance research institute in New Zealand. 

John has the perfect blend of theory and practical. During his career John has worked with a variety of athletes and teams, ranging from youth development athletes to elite world champion individuals and teams. John has worked with National level cricket, netball, soccer, rugby union and rugby sevens teams. He has also worked with discus, boxing, wrestling, gymnastics, shooting and jet skiing  athletes. 

John is now primarily an educator, and has spent the last 25 years at AUT University lecturing in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs for sport and exercise science. He has supervised over 40 PhD and 40 Masters students in the area of strength and conditioning and sport technology, and has over 400 peer reviewed publications.

  • Do I need to have a flywheel to become a member?

    No you don't. Our level 1 membership is for anybody that is interested in flywheel training. The resources will give you information and insights into what flywheel resistance training is all about.

  • How do I know which membership is right for me?

    Our level 1 membership is for those considering buying an Exerfly and wanting to learn more about the training tool. Our level 2 membership is for those seeking assistance to get started with Exerfly and presents information about the various technologies and fundamental loading patterns. Our level 3 membership is for those looking for professional development and wanting to be a part of an Exerfly community, where you have access to comprehensive resources and face to face interactions with the Exerfly Education team.

  • Where can I find out more information about memberships?

    You can click on each membership to find a detailed description. If you are still unsure or want more information, please contact [email protected].

  • What prior knowledge is needed before becoming a member?

    Each level builds on the previous, so if you have no flywheel resistance knowledge, then it is recommended to begin with our free level 1 membership.

  • I have a number of colleagues/staff that all want to access the course. Do you offer group discounts?

    Yes, please contact [email protected] and we can organize a discount for you if there are 2 or more people in your organization who want to access the course.

  • Do you offer trial periods before I commit to a full membership?

    No we don't offer trial periods. If you would like to get an idea of what our resources are like, we suggest trying out level 1 membership first, which is free to access.
